My introduction to the world of dog shows was in 2001, when my parents bought our second Whippet bitch, Ch. Woodsmoke Simple Escapes (Chamsy), from breeder Patricia Miller. Encouraging us to show her, Patricia did not know how much this little sable female would change my life.

My first time in a conformation ring was at the United Kennel Club show in December 2001.  I started presenting regularly in 2002, specialing (this is when you show a dog that already has it’s championship) Chamsy for almost a year, winning several group placements, including a group first.

Next, with the help and guidance of Pat Miller, Interlude Kennel grew with some nice puppies of our breeding who all finished their championships very quickly.  This gave me some recognition as a handler with the various group placements and the 3 Best Puppy In Show, won by Melody and Monir.

While presenting my own dogs, I competed for 3 years in junior handling, giving me the chance to present several breeds and to show that I had talent and determination to become a professional handler. During those 3 years, I had the chance to meet other people that shared my passion and with whom I'm now having good relationships.

Since the beginning, people have been very supportive of my showing and they, along with my parents and Pat Miller, helped me to build confidence and establish myself, and for that I am eternally grateful.
